Ireland, Day 8 – Slieve League and Glencolmcille

The cliffs of Slieve League – the highest cliffs in Ireland

Glencolmcille was a place of sanctuary for St. Columba and it is a significant pilgrimage site. There are 15 stations for prayer and reflection. Some of the group went to 5 stations. Others of us completed only two due to high winds and rain. It appears that we have a tropical storm – the remnants of Hurricane Gordon. This picture is of station 1 – Gratitude for those who suffered religious persecution and prayer for strength and courage to speak the truth.

Station 2 – 5,000 year old megalithic tomb. Speaks to ancient people’s devotion to a place where God’s presence was felt. Thanks for land which is a place of connection with God.
