European Family Heritage Adventure DAY 4

This morning, we woke up with our homestay families. Berlikum is the Dutch province of Friesland which has its own culture, language & food. This area is also known for its extensive dike system and the graceful Friesland horse breed. Some of the local cuisine we enjoyed included sugar bread & cooked cabbage. This area grows its own cabbage, beets, potatoes & sunflowers.
Some of our families joined us in the village of Holwerd for Sunday service in the Mennonite church. Now, we proceeded to Munster, Germany for a guided Anabaptist walking tour.
