And we’re off! Everyone made it safely to the “starting line” in Bingen. Then we started by sitting together for several hours before and during dinner getting acquainted and getting ready to experience the music and atmosphere of Eibingen Abbey, founded in 1165 CE by Hildegard von Bingen.
Thanks again to everyone who helped Rennie and me put this experience together. Hats off especially to Emily in the office who contacted so many hotels and transportation companies and concert venues to make arrangements for us. Thanks Emily!
We just finished a wonderful day out. We hiked up to Eibingen Abbey and arrived just in time for the noon prayers–the music of Hildegard von Bingen sung by the sisters of the abbey.
The view on the way down was just as inviting. We’ll have a chance to process the day over dinner on the terrace overlooking the Rhine–that’s in about thirty minutes. I expect we’ll be there a while this evening.
