European Family Heritage Adventure DAY 12

Today we toured Dachau concentration camp. Dachau was the first concentration camp built by Nazi Germany, opening in March 1933. A place with a history of blatant injustice, medical experiments, and murder, some words that attempt to describe the experience of walking through Dauchau are:

Death

Disease

Dehumanization

Dark

Disbelief

Demoralizing

A few quotes that come to mind:

“Robbed the human mind of reason”

“Work makes free”

How to survive Dachau (as stated by a survivor): “be young, be lucky, have a good job assignment”

Later, we made our way to Munich, a city with many historical, religious, and architectural wonders including St Peter’s Church & the Glockenspiel, Munich’s famous clock in the city center. It was a national holiday & we enjoyed the streets’ activities.
