Day one of the tour to Russia

By Len Friesen, Tour Leader

Well, well, the TourMagination tour for 2017 is up and running.  We arrived in Moscow earlier today after a couple of smooth flights across the Atlantic, and then from Frankfurt to Russia’s capital city.  Our hotel, the Courtyard by Marriott, is in Moscow’s city centre, and a short stroll from the great Kremlin walls.  Several of us rested after we arrived here this afternoon while perhaps half the group walked down to the Kremlin, and then along until we got to Red Square.

It was a remarkable site, and we weren’t done yet as evening vespers were being sung at the lovely medieval Kazan Cathedral, just off Red Square.  It was a magical moment.  A little later on we gathered around several tables as we enjoyed our first sit-down meal together.   We have gotten to know each other quickly and have gone over the schedule of the next several days.  There is so much to see in Moscow, and once seen it needs even more time to absorb it.  But this is one motivated group, so it’s an early goodnight, and then we hit the ground running tomorrow.

Day 1 is in the books.
