Coronavirus FAQs

Q: Where can I find the latest travel restrictions related to my tours?

Enter your destination into this TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS tool powered by Sherpa to find out up-to-date information about travel requirements, from visas to vaccinations for the countries you’re visiting.

Q: What is happening with upcoming TourMagination group tours?

We continue to work closely with our partner suppliers, including our hotel and ground transportation providers, to offer tours again. The safety and security of our travellers, along with that of our tour leaders, in-country guides and partners, is our top priority. We have implemented preventive measures to continue to protect our travel community. See our Travel with Peace of Mind policy.

Q. What happens if I already paid a deposit for tour that was cancelled?

If you have already paid a deposit or partial/full payment for a 2020 tour this amount is a credit and transferable to another tour. For those who are re-registering for the same tour but at a later date, we will endeavour to keep the fare as comparable to the previous fare as possible. Or, if you decide to register for a different TourMagination tour instead, we’re here to help with that, too. RE-REGISTER FOR A CANCELLED 2020 TOUR or REREGISTER FOR A CANCELLED 2021 TOUR  or RE-REGISTER for a cancelled 2022 Tour

If you’re excited to travel in the future but aren’t quite sure when you’ll be able to go or which tour interests you, we’ll provide you with a travel credit to apply to another one of our tours departing within the next 3 years. If there is extra credit on your account due to a less expensive tour or cruise, you can use this credit for pre and post-tour hotel accommodation, airport transfers, and other activities connected to a TM tour. You can also transfer it to a deposit for another future tour.

Q: Is my travel credit transferable?

Yes, travel credits are transferable; however, they do expire 3 years after your original departure date. For example, if you were issued a travel credit for a trip scheduled to depart on August 15, 2021, you can use it on trips departing until August 15, 2024. If there are extraordinary circumstances that prevent you from travelling in this allotted time we will be sensitive to your situation.

Q: What are your safety protocols for TourMagination tours?

For the safety of all our travellers, tour leaders, in-country guides and suppliers, we will be following the guidelines set out by the World Health Organization and the various country governments we will be visiting. READ American guidelines. READ Canadian guidelines.

At this time, TourMagination will only be welcoming fully vaccinated travellers on our tours. Travellers impacted by this decision should contact us to discuss rescheduling their tour.

In addition to complying with government regulations, TourMagination is adopting the following protocols:

For Our Travellers:

Here are some of the measures we are taking to protect our travellers on TourMagination group tours.

Pre-Tour

All travellers will be asked to have hard copy or digital proof of vaccination with them when they travel in case the country to which they are travelling requires it. They also need to complete a Health Declaration form to ensure all travellers are healthy. Travellers will also be asked to sign a waiver. Please note: Travelling will be denied without completing the Health Declaration and having proof of vaccination.

We strongly recommend packing medical grade and/or N95/KN95 masks to protect yourself when masks are required.

During Travel

Guided by the tour leader, TourMagination group tours will make decisions among themselves related to masking and physical distancing in situations when it is not required by local laws. Together group members will agree on what to do on private coaches, at tourist sites, and during meals.

On board public transportation and private coaches

All TourMagination travellers must comply with local restrictions related to wearing masks and physical distancing on public transportation.

TourMagination groups will decide among themselves whether everyone needs to wear a mask and sit physically distanced on a private coach. For example, one group may choose to sit physically distant and wear masks. Another group, may decide to sit together while wearing masks. A third group, may choose to sit close together without masks.

At Tourist Sites
All TourMagination travellers must comply with local restrictions related to wearing masks and physical distancing while inside at tourist sites. Outside when physical distancing is not possible, travellers will comply with the group decision related to masking.

During Meals
All TourMagination travellers must comply with local restrictions related to wearing masks and physical distancing in restaurants. While sharing a group meal, travellers will comply with the group decision related to masking and physical distancing.

Monitor Your Health
Travellers are asked to keep a close eye on how they’re feeling and report any new symptoms to their tour leader so we can make sure they get the help they need. If anyone should become ill while traveling with us, we’ll ask them to isolate until they can be seen by a medical professional, as high quality local medical services are always nearby.

For Our Tour Leaders:

Fully Vaccinated

We will ensure that TourMagination Tour Leaders and Tour Operators are fully vaccinated. Like travellers, tour leaders will be required to complete an online Health Declaration form prior to departure.

During Travel
Tour leaders will comply with local restrictions related to wearing masks and physical distancing. They will also abide by the group decision related to masking and physical distancing on private coaches, at tourist sites, and during meals. Leaders will ensure travellers are respecting local restrictions and complying with group decisions.

At Tourist Sites
Tour leaders may remove their mask while outdoors and physically distanced to inform travellers about a site. For most of our tours, our clients are provided with their own blue-tooth device along with ear-buds (or can use their own earbuds) so they can hear the tour leaders commentary.

Tour Operators, Coach Companies, and Other Suppliers
TourMagination will be checking in with tour operators, coach companies, hotels and other suppliers to ensure that appropriate COVID-19 protocols are in place before our tour groups access their services.

We will review the following with suppliers:

  • Sanitization practices
  • Physical distancing protocols
  • Mask requirements
  • Air quality measures
  • And other safety protocols.

Please note: As new information becomes available, TourMagination’s Health and Safety protocols will be updated. Further details will be provided electronically in your travel documents before you depart.
