Day 9, Ukraine Tour

 A shorter entry today, but I want to report that we departed early this morning from Zaporozhe and arrived in Odessa by evening.  It was a long day as we travelled on roads that (we were later told) have been torn up by tank traffic.  Who can say?  So many roads here seem sadly to have been neglected by a state that itself lacks the funds it need to maintain the infrastructure. 

We did enjoy a noon meal at a new winery just outside of Kherson, though it must be said that we were all happy to arrive safe and sound in this jewel of a city on the Black Sea.

 We are settled into our rooms for the evening, but will hit the ground running tomorrow morning.
